Steel door frames are a bricklayer’s headache — dimensions vary, square isn’t always square, and getting brickwork to course up cleanly around them used to mean a lot of measuring and checking. The BT Door Gauge — Large is a BT Engineering invention designed to fix that for medium-to-large steel frames.
What it does
Clamped to the door frame, it gives you a consistent reference point for coursing brickwork up either side of the opening. You set it once, and every course references the same position — eliminating drift, keeping the jamb brickwork plumb, and saving time on checking.
