It’s been a while since our last newsletter, and we’ve got some thrilling updates and innovations to share with you from BT Engineering. We’ve been through some major changes over the two past years, and we’re excited to keep you in the loop about all the latest happenings.
New MD, Facilities and Equipment
You may have heard the news already, but we’ve got a new guy at the helm! Please welcome George Hinings, our new Managing Director. He’s joined us during these challenging times, bringing a fresh perspective and a background in industrial design and mechanical engineering; so we’re confident that BT Engineering is in good hands.
That’s not all — the old shed just wasn’t cutting it anymore. So, after 30 long years, we’ve made the move to a bigger and better facility. Our new premises give us the space we need to ramp up production and meet the growing demand for our top-notch bricklaying equipment.
We upped our game too by invested in a cutting-edge welding robot that’s revolutionizing our manufacturing process. This state-of-the-art technology ensures we can mee the higher volume demanded by you.
Introducing the Brick Saw
Shall we talk about something that’ll make your life easier. Down under, brick saws are an everyday staple, and we’ve got to hand it to you our bricklaying cousins in the UK for your bravery, using cut-off saws to slice through bricks. But guess what? We’ve got the ultimate game-changer right here. Our brick saw is designed to revolutionise your work, saving your back and making the whole process more efficient. Now, we a petrol version already in the UK, but we know you’re wondering about an electric version. —we’re on it! The 110V motor for site is a bit trickier than expected, but rest assured, we’re working hard to make it happen in the coming months.
Shipping Updates
We can’t thank you enough for your incredible support, loyalty, and patience as we strive to keep up with the demand for our high-quality Australian-made bricklaying equipment in the UK. Your positive response has blown us away, and we’re determined to deliver the goods you need.
Back in January, we shipped our first full 20ft container jam-packed with hundreds of each tool, along with twelve petrol brick saws and two paver (slab) saws. We are busy now packing another scheduled to arrive in August, ensuring we’ve got the stock levels you deserve. If any of our stock gets critically low we will be able to top it up with an air freight shipment.
Introducing the Dentil Dori Block
We are very excited to be able to announce the development of the new Dentil Dori Block.
The original Dori Block dates to the early 80’s when Bruce was first asked by a mate of his Dorian to knock “something like this” and so the Dori Block was born. That is right the Dori Block is a BT invention.
This next iteration has been a long time coming and it took an English bricky called Chris, to talk to us about the issues around dentil / projected work. He needed something to offset a string line in 10mm increments out to 30mm. So, after a number of design iterations later Chris’s wish has come true, here they are! Whilst we are madly trying to finish off a good quantity of stock for you. We anticipate the ability to pre-order from the middle of June, then shipment out of our warehouse in the last week of June.
We will let you know when you can get them and more information of them in action, so stay tuned.
Getting to know UK Bricklayers
In March, George had the opportunity to meet with bricklayers of all levels in the UK. Conducting masonry saw and clamp demonstrations at colleges and on-site, we gained valuable insights into the challenges you face and how we can best assist you. From adapting existing tools to new product development, we are committed to leveraging our Australian heritage to deliver solutions tailored to the UK market.
