Threads not long enough to work with a 40 mm profile

No these are designed to work with 50mm & 2″ profiles. If you are after something to suit 40mm profiles I can recommend the BT Spike at the following link:
https://www.btengpl.co.uk/product/spike-internal/. This has a much longer screw to accommodate such profile.
Otherwise, if you already have one of our Sliding G-Clamps you can use one of these. Slide the slider off and put it on backwards. The clamp then can be used as normal, the welded flat end inserted into the perp and the slider screwed up against the profile. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help if.
